The Yardbird® Scalding Gloves allow for a complete scald of poultry or meat birds during the butchering process. The process of submerging a bird in hot water to help loosen the birds feathers is known as scalding, and it is a crucial step in the plucking process. An improper scald can make plucking difficult or even destroy the meat and tear the skin in the plucker. The Yardbird Scalding Gloves allow for a bird to be completely prepped for plucking without fear of burns from the hot water thanks to a 100% waterproof and heat-resistant neoprene material. A durable textured outer coating provides additional grip for wet and slippery birds. The extra-long forearm cuffs keep your arms protected from splashing water while also keeping you clean for other butchering tasks. Yardbird’s Scalding Gloves let you reach deep into your scalding pot to allow the feet of birds to be submerged and prepped for processing so that the rough outer layer comes off during the plucking process.
